ITEM DESCRIPTION
This vintage-style tailored waistcoat is designed to be worn with high-waisted trousers from the 1930s and 1940s. The cut follows an original 1930s pattern and is intentionally shorter than a modern waistcoat, allowing it to sit correctly above the waistband of period-style trousers. The shorter length is typical of interwar tailoring and intended for wear with high-rise trousers.
The front is made from 100% cotton corduroy with very fine ribs, in a warm caramel brown tone. The waistcoat features a tailored collar and a classic six-button front. As with traditional waistcoats of the period, the bottom button is intended to be left unbuttoned.
The back and full lining are made from an acetate–viscose jacquard with a bronze and gold roses motive. The back is finished with a buttoned adjustment for fit.
